Knokl, Cryoshell's management agency have confirmed that the album will be released physically as a CD in Germany on 16th September (next Friday) priced €8.99, some retailers might price it differently. For German fans, the album is already on sale digitally on iTunes for the same price.

Warner Bros have released the cover and synopsis of the new Hero Factory movie Savage Planet:

Welcome to the Hero Factory. A place where the most advanced and skilled Heroes in the universe are built to serve one function - saving the world from evil.

Rookie Rocka responds to a distress signal sent by a civilian, Aldous Witch, who has crash-landed on a protected planet. When Rocka goes missing, Stormer, Furno, Nex, Bulk and Stringer are sent to find him. They discover that Aldous Witch has transformed into the sinister Witch Doctor and has turned a once beautiful planet into a savage wasteland that is now set on destroying itself and everything on it...including our Heroes.

A new teaser advertisement have appeared pre to the American version of the official Hero Factory website, you can view it here. The teaser features the silhouette of one of the new 2.0 Heroes as well as a background statement on the program and will be released next month in April in conjunction for Lego Design by Me, which suggests that those who take part have to desigh their own Heroes, more details coming soon. In other news: For American HF fans, the next TV episode of Hero Factory, titled Ordeal of Fire, is to broadcast on 14th April at 8:30pm (EDT) on Nicktoons, the following episodes are likely to follow on a weekly basis.

This year has been good in someways; Bionicle went out in style with the final sets released and Lego introduced us to a new line of toys compatible with Bionicle, Hero Factory. But at least the story is still continuing - over on BionicleStory.com.

New Lego Stores Coming to the UK

The Lego Group have today announced that two new Lego Stores are to be opened in the UK! One store will be located at Westfield in London, England (Ariel Way, W12 7GF) and the other at St David's Shopping Centre in Cardiff, Wales (11 Bridge Street, CF10 2EF). Details on when they will be opened is as of yet unknown, but will be confirmed soon.

New Hero Factory Movie Coming to DVD!

A four-part TV series based on Lego Hero Factory is to start broadcasting on NickToons later this month in the United States (unknown if it's the same for the UK), but Lego have recently confirmed that a direct-to-DVD Hero Factory movie is planned for release this November. The world’s most popular construction toy brand is coming to life as Warner Home Video (WHV) and the Lego Group release an all-new animated feature-length DVD movie, Lego Hero Factory: Rise of the Rookies, based on the new construction (constructible action figure) property Hero Factory on November 16, 2010 for $14.97 SRP. Lego Hero Factory will debut on NickToons on September 20, 2010. Filled with tons of action and adventure, Lego Hero Factory: Rise of the Rookies takes a look at the elusive Hero Factory in Makuhero City which designs, builds and dispatches the most skilled robot heroes to fight villains, solve crises and restore peace across the universe.

Lego Hero Factory: Rise of the Rookies follows the adventures of six Heroes as they begin to work together to complete missions. 4T2 says goodbye to the Lego BIONICLE brand with a lava drenched bang!
The Bionicle Stars range reunites and redesigns six famous characters for a final curtain call. This campaign is 4T2's first Tower Defence game. Or should that be Tower Defense? Who knows?

With this game aimed at nine year old children, our first challenge was to take the genre back to its basic principles: stop hordes reaching their goal by placing towers (or in this case, heavily armed robots!) along their path. We then added as many unique elements as we could without making the game too complicated for a child to play. For example, context sensitive menus expand wherever you click, helping to simplify your options without limiting the game. Finally, we challenged our design team to make this campaign look stunning. We'll add a link to this game when it goes live at www.bionicle.com so you can decide for yourself whether they succeeded or not.

Karda Nui Matoran

The Matoran of Light find themselves at war with each other, as many of their number have been turned to darkness by the Brotherhood of Makuta. Both sides ally with more powerful warriors - the Toa Nuva or the Makuta - in the fight for Karda Nui.

Tanma
Tanma is the leader of the last remaining Matoran of Light. He has grown into the job, learning to make the hard choices in the short time Karda Nui has been besieged. Brave, but not foolish, and wise enough to know the Matoran have to strike and run away if they are going to survive.

Solek
Solek is an expert on the ancient legends of the Toa Nuva and knows more about their past than they do! Kopaka is his hero and he wants to be more like him, but has not yet discovered how to contain his excitement and master his emotions.

Photok
Photok is a warrior who has been longing for something to fight for millennia. He is impatient to take the battle to the Brotherhood of Makuta and feels Tanma is too cautious. He was best friends with Radiak and now the two often clash.

Radiak
Radiak is as fierce a fighter for the side of Shadow as he ever was for Light, and he takes special delight in challenging his former friends to combat and then seeing them ambushed by the Makuta.

Gavla
Leader of the shadow Matoran, Gavla’s hatred for her own people makes her a formidable enemy. She fights the Matoran of Light as much because she enjoys it as because she has been ordered to.

Kirop
Former leader of the Matoran of Light, Kirop has become their most dangerous enemy because he knows everything about all of them. He dislikes Gavla because she has been given the authority he feels should have been his.

The wastelands in between them are home to the nomadic tribe of bone hunters, the beast-like Vorox and Zesk, numerous dangerous desert creatures, and other perils. Despite this, Agori traders and Glatorian fighters frequently travel across the sands for duty or for profit. Southern Bara Magna is the most heavily populated region and home to all of the known villages. The Skrall now living in Roxtus originally dwelled much further to the north, but came south for reasons as yet unknown. It’s not clear if anyone now lives in the heavily volcanic region beyond the Black Spike Mountains. While motorized vehicles do exist on Bara Magna, most travel through the desert is done using either mounts or wagons pulled by animals. Sand and sun causes machinery to break down quickly, and anyone stranded in the desert overnight rarely lives to see the sunrise. The villages of Bara Magna are scattered around the desert. Most consist of a single large structure which serves as a shelter for more crudely made dwellings and workplaces. Each village is home to a tribe of Agori whose name is based on the terrain of its home region (ice tribe, water tribe, jungle tribe, etc.) The villages are different sizes and have access to different resources, which means both trade and arguments over resources are common. The known villages are:

Tajun: Home of the water tribe. Located to the southwest, Tajun sits on the largest oasis in the desert. The Agori there never have to worry about running out of water, but they need to trade for or find just about everything else. In recent weeks, trade with Tajun has become much more difficult due to increased bone hunter raids.

Vulcanus: Home of the fire tribe. Vulcanus is located in a dangerous area – north of the Sea of Liquid Sand, west of Iron Canyon, and south of bone hunter territory. The Agori here trade their services for goods. They are very skilled at repairing broken weapons and equipment. Due to the exile of one of their Glatorian, Malum, for crimes in the arena, Vulcanus is currently short-handed for matches with other villages.

Tesara: Home of the jungle tribe. Located in a rare area of extensive plant growth, the natives of Tesara are skilled healers. There are also a higher number of treasure hunters and historians among this tribe, since their village is close to so many ancient ruins. Tesaran Agori are often more agile than other tribes, since they spend a great deal of time in the trees.

Atero: A “free city,” Atero is home to a small number of members of each tribe (with the exception of sand and rock). It is also the site of the Arena Magna, the largest and oldest stadium on the planet. Glatorian travel here once a year for an annual tournament to determine the champion fighter.

Roxtus: Home of the rock tribe. Located to the far north, this large city was uninhabited prior to the arrival of the Skrall due to the dangerous terrain and wildlife in the area. Since coming to Roxtus, the Skrall have banned other tribes from visiting there unless invited. There are rumors that Skrall keep Agori slaves there, but these haven’t been confirmed. Roxtus is the only village bone hunters are known to stay away from.

Iconox: Home of the ice tribe. Iconox is known for its large deposits of the metal exsidian, which is valued for its endurance (it does not rust or wear away from sand erosion as quickly as other metals do). The ice Agori are skilled miners, traders, merchants, Glatorian trainers and match promoters.

The sand tribe does not have a village of its own. The Vorox and Zesk live in the wastelands between villages.

Karda Nui

Info: The cave of Karda Nui, “the world that feeds the world,” is so big it’s practically a universe in itself. The bottom of the cave is submerged and enormous, strangely shaped stalactites have dropped from the ceiling and impaled on the floor. In the center of the cave, the last remnants of a once fantastic waterfall have exhausted themselves, creating a vast swamp far below. The water of Karda Nui is a mixture of liquid protodermis and saltwater. The waters emit light at the center, as well as heat. During the time the waterfall was active, ripples on the water shaped the stalactite formations. Occasionally, pieces break off the rocks and fall into the swamp. High up in the cave, the air is good and visibility excellent, but the closer you get to the swamp, the more difficult it becomes to see. The air down below is shrouded in mist and fog. Each of the stalactites is almost a world all its own, with some being inhabited by Av-Matoran. The foundations of the stalactites are fragile and escape from them is virtually impossible… unless you can fly.

Phantoka - Makuta

One of the oldest and most powerful organizations in the Bionicle universe, the Brotherhood of Makuta is made up of shapeshifting scientists and warriors. Makuta Antroz
Antroz is the leader of the Brotherhood of Makuta forces in Karda Nui. Aggressive, he is not really a long-range planner, more a fierce warrior. In his opinion, complex tactics and strategies don’t win battles – crushing your enemy before he crushes you wins battles. Unlike the Makuta of Metru Nui, he never underestimates a foe. Like the other two flying Makuta, Antroz spreads darkness wherever he flies. He has access to all Makuta powers, though he tends to rely more on pure physical strength in combat.

Vamprah is the true hunter among the Makuta, who delights in silently stalking his prey. Even his allies are uncomfortable around him. Thanks to his mask power and his own experiments, he now literally feeds on the hopes and dreams of others. Like the other two flying Makuta, Vamprah spreads darkness wherever he flies. He has access to all Makuta powers.

He has access to all Makuta powers.

Mahri Nui

Info: This sunken village of Mahri Nui was surrounded by air bubbles, which allowed its Matoran villagers to survive. Once a part of the floating island of Voya Nui, this submerged village remained linked to Voya Nui through a stone cord. Mahri Nui’s position was dangerous. Not only did the Matoran and their Hydruka helpers need to constantly replenish their air supplies, the village itself was perched near the lip of The Pit, a deep and unfriendly realm. The Pit was once a prison, home to all the worst beings imaginable, but its guardians were destroyed a thousand years ago in the Great Cataclysm. The Barraki and others swarmed toward Mahri Nui, which lay nearly defenceless. But the Mask of Life, which had fallen from Voya Nui down to Mahri Nui, brought with it Toa that helped defend the Matoran and their little village. Despite battles that raged around it, the bubbled village survived long enough for the Toa Mahri to evacuate the Matoran through the stone cord up to Voya Nui. Once the Mask of Life was safely in the Toa’s possession and the Matoran safe, they destroyed the stone cord and Voya Nui smashed through Mahri Nui.

Info: The unforgiving island of Voya Nui was a wasteland. This island of doom, as its Matoran inhabitants named it, held secrets that forced the island to become the center of battles between powerful foes. Once, the crescent-shaped island had been whole, until part of the island dropped away to become Mahri Nui. The two – floating Voya Nui and sunken Mahri Nui – were connected by a stone cord that prevented the island from toppling back into the sea. Before even Mahri Nui broke off, the island had been part of the World that Feeds the World, Karda Nui. Long before, it had broken free of that enormous cave, and shot to the surface of the ocean. Deep beneath the surface of Voya Nui, the Chamber of Life held a special Kanohi mask: the Mask of Life. It had been hidden by the Great Beings long, long ago, in case its power was needed. Powerful guardians kept others from claiming the mask, but it truly was needed and so Toa Matoro eventually received the mask. After evacuating the Matoran, he and his fellow Toa destroyed the stone cord supporting the island, which then plummeted to fill the hole it had created in Voya Nui. Mahri Nui was also destroyed by Voya Nui’s fall.

Phantoka - Toa Nuva

Toa Kopaka
Unlike some of the other Toa Nuva, Kopaka has changed very little. He still prefers to fight alone, given the opportunity, though he knows it’s not a wise tactic against the Makuta. He is not at all happy about going into battle with Solek, feeling that exposing Matoran to danger is the last thing a responsible Toa should do. He and Tahu have settled many of their differences and Kopaka now fills the role of deputy leader of the team.

Toa Lewa
Of all the Toa, Lewa is one of the two (along with Tahu) who have matured the most. Although he still has an adventurous spirit, he is no longer so reckless and wild. He knows he has proven himself in battle, and so doesn’t feel the need to try quite so hard all the time. As a result, he has become a better teammate, a better fighter, and someone both Tahu and Kopaka feel can be trusted in dangerous situations.

Toa Pohatu
Always one of the friendlier Toa, Pohatu has been happy to see the team coming together and the internal fights a thing of the past. He is regarded as the most loyal and reliable team member, so easygoing and with such a good sense of humor that even Kopaka can’t help liking him. But Pohatu is also a fierce fighter, especially when he feels the weak are being threatened.

Piraka

Vesok

Zaktan

Avak
The most talented engineer among the Piraka, Avak can make a tool or weapon out of virtually anything. He can use his X-ray and telescopic vision to seek out foes and then create a perfect prison from thin air to hold them! If it comes to a fight, Avak can rely on his zamor sphere launcher and his seismic pickaxe/jackhammer combination.

Thok's plan is simple - convince all the other Piraka he is on their side, and then betray them all! He has the power to bring inanimate objects to life to serve him and spellbinder vision to disorient a foe. Info: The City of Legends, Metru Nui was a great metropolis. Resting in a sea of liquid protodermis, the city and was widely known for its quality of craftsmanship and high standards. Like Mata Nui after it, Metru Nui was divided into six districts. Po-Metru, where large areas were set aside for manufacturing and sculpting; Ga-Metru, with temples and halls of learning; Ta-Metru, with its great hot forges and mask-makers; Onu-Metru and its extensive archives; Le-Metru holding the transportation facilities; and Ko-Metru with its Knowledge Towers. The massive Coliseum at the center of the island city hosted sporting events and other public exhibitions. For thousands of years, the city was prosperous, defended by legions of Toa and ruled by wise Turaga. But that peace came to an end after Makuta infiltrated the city and posed as Turaga Dume. He rid the city of Toa and had the Matoran put into pods, which later found their way to the island of Mata Nui. A great quake shook the city, toppling towers and causing much damage. Later, spidery Visorak hordes invaded the city, casting webs throughout the tall towers and further harming the once-great metropolis. After the Toa Metru left, the city was abandoned until the Toa Nuva returned with Takanuva to rebuild. Hardly had the rebuilding started when the Toa were sent on missions of vital importance, casting the future of Metru Nui into uncertainty once again…

Rahi on Mata Nui come in many shapes and sizes, from the tiny Fikou spider to the fearsome Kane-Ra. Some are intelligent, others are cunning, and a few can be tamed.

.Nui-Rama
The Nui-Rama resemble large, flying insects. They can be found throughout Mata Nui, though it is believed they make their nests in Lewa's jungles. Nui-Rama spend most of their time in the air, spying on the Toa for Makuta or stalking their prey. Like all Rahi, the Nui-Rama are controlled by the infected masks they wear. If the masks are removed, they will cease fighting and can sometimes even be tamed. Because they have the ability to fly at great speeds, the Le-Matoran sometimes ride them in addition to the Gukko.

Nui-Jaga
The Nui-Jaga are huge, scorpion-like creatures. They can be found primarily in the deserts of Po-Wahi, though they have been spotted in the jungles and along the coast as well. Nui-Jaga normally hunt in pairs. Like all Rahi, the Nui-Jaga are controlled by the infected masks they wear. If the masks are removed, the Nui-Jaga will cease fighting and can sometimes even be tamed, but their claws and powerful stingers make the Turaga reluctant to have the Nui-Jaga in their villages.

Muaka & Kane-Ra

Although they are very different creatures, Muaka and Kane-Ra work together because Makuta wishes them to do so. Muaka is a large tiger-like creature and Kane-Ra resembles a great bull. They are two of the most powerful Rahi. Like all Rahi, Muaka and Kane-Ra are controlled by the infected masks they wear. If the masks are removed, the two will cease fighting and can sometimes even be tamed.

Tarakava
Tarakava live in the oceans and rivers of Mata Nui, preferring the shallows close to the shoreline. They are huge, lizard-like creatures that almost always hunt in pairs. Those Matoran villagers who sail the waters of Mata Nui have learned to fear the Tarakava more than any other Rahi. Like all Rahi, the infected masks they wear control Tarakava. If the masks are removed, they will cease fighting and can sometimes even be tamed. The Matoran villagers of Ga-Koro often take pity on stunned Tarakava and bring them into their village to care for them.

Info: Mata Nui was once an island paradise. The island featured tall icy mountains, deep ocean bays, wide desert expanses, caves deep underground, lush green jungles, even a volcano. For a thousand years, Matoran lived in six villages, each ruled by a wise Turaga, bothered only by the occasional rahi beast. Each village was located in a different region:

Ko-Koro: Icy mountainous village, which was overseen by Turaga Nuju and his spokesman, Matoro.

Po-Koro: Wind-swept desert surrounded the enclosed canyon protecting this village of carvers and Rahi-herders. Onewa ruled Po-Koro, and Hewkii was the island’s best Kolhii champion.

Ta-Koro: Fiery village perched on a rocky island in the middle of a lava lake, surrounded by the Charred Forest. Turaga Vakama guided the village, which was guarded by Jaller, Captain of the Guard. Takua the Chronicler likewise called Ta-Koro home.

Ga-Koro: Floating on lush green mats of vegetation, the all-female village resided in a bay. Wise Turaga Nokama ruled this watery realm, and Hahli performed many tasks to help her village – even playing Kolhii.

Onu-Koro: Deep, dark caves and tunnels connected the caverns of this underground village. Turaga Whenua was in charge of the miners, and one of his engineers, Nuparu, invented the Boxor vehicle.

Le-Koro: Built high in the trees above a swamp, this leafy village was ruled by Turaga Matau and his crack squadron of air fighters riding trained rahi.

Just before the coming of the Toa, rahi beasts – driven mad by infected masks provided by the Makuta – rampaged across the island. They were stopped, only to be replaced by more dangerous and destructive invaders: the Bohrok swarms. Thousands of Bohrok tried to strip the island clean, but were stopped by the Toa and Matoran. Later, when Makuta unleashed his Rahkshi on the island, several villages were destroyed, and the inhabitants migrated to Metru Nui. Since the departure of all Toa and Matoran, Bohrok swarms have stripped every shred of vegetation from the surface of Mata Nui. The island awaits a time foretold…

Toa Mata

Toa Gali

Gali is the only female Toa and incredibly wise - perhaps wiser than all the other five Toa put together. The villagers of Ga-Koro are incredibly loyal to Gali and believe she is the sustainer of life. But if she gets angry, look out - tidal waves and rainstorms flood the island! Gali is the most agile and gymnastic of the six Toa. She has incredible jumping abilities and her own brand of acrobatic self-defense. The only things that can slow her down are excessive heat and drought. Gali is at home both in and near the waters of Lake Naho. She swims quickly through the waterfalls that plunge down into the icy water, using her two hooked arms to grab onto rocks and cliffs. She works in harmony with the waters, which help to protect her in times of danger.

Toa Kopaka

Kopaka is cool, calculating and methodical in his actions. His long ice blade cuts and melts ice; one skillful swipe can cause avalanches or instantly freeze anything it touches. It is believed that Kopaka brings the winters, and the long cold nights, and it is known that his power strikes a balance against the fiery presence of Tahu. Kopaka prefers to work alone. He is the least communicative of the Toa, and will only join forces with the others if it's absolutely necessary for his own survival. Kopaka is most at home skiing up and down the slopes of Mount Ihu with blazing speed and unmatched skill.

Toa Lewa

Lewa is supremely competent with aerial activities. He glides through the air with ease while jumping from tree to tree. His axe effortlessly slices through trees and vines as he climbs through his jungle around Kanae Bay. Lewa prefers to inhabit the treetops because he is somewhat clumsy on land and flat surfaces. Lewa is quick to jump to conclusions - and he's the first to get into trouble. But his instincts are often true, and his hunches frequently turn out to be correct. If there's a fight, he's always the first to jump in, protecting others before himself.

Toa Onua

Onua is at home below ground. With his huge hands he scrapes out tunnels in the rocky cliffs over Papu Niho Reef. His low, squat body and head allow him to move quickly in tunnels and his infrared eyes give him amazing night vision. In daylight his eyesight is poor, although he compensates with amazingly powerful hearing. He is slower on open land than underground, but has incredible strength and surprising dexterity. Onua is at one with the land. He can hear trouble coming from miles away, and on occasion can even persuade the landscape to do his bidding-which is very useful when under attack.

Toa Pohatu

Pohatu is so immensely strong that he can literally move mountains. He can make massive rocks explode like bombs or roll with great precision towards an attacker. His huge feet contain great power, smashing even the most unyielding stones with a single kick! All the Toa like Pohatu for his kind nature and for his rock-solid dependability. He's slow, but friendly and reliable. He's not good at snap decisions, but when he makes a decision to do something, he stands firm until the end - so don't get in his way! Whenever there is trouble, Pohatu will always be there behind you, an immovable force that few enemies can dislodge. His only fear is water: he cannot swim, and he sinks...like a stone. Pohatu inhabits the foothills of Mount Ihu, moving slowly but sure-footedly among the rocks and boulders at the base of the great mountain.

Toa Tahu

Tahu is the fiercest of the six Toa, and the most feared - you don't want to get into a fight with Tahu if you can help it. He is most at home in the hot molten world of the Mangai Volcano where he surfs on lava flows, using his sword of flames to cut through rocks and keep the lava moving towards the ocean. His flaming temper can make him hotheaded and irrational sometimes. He has the least patience of the Toa and often jumps into a situation without thinking, which can get him, and the other Toa, into trouble!

Toa Mahri

Toa Nuparu

Although the life of the Great Spirit Mata Nui has been saved, he remains trapped in an endless sleep. Only the Toa Nuva can awaken him and restore Light to the universe. The Toa are now armed with adaptive armor, weapons and masks, which alter themselves to suit whatever environment the heroes find themselves in. And they need any advantage they can get, for powerful, bat-like members of the Brotherhood of Makuta have launched an attack on the Matoran of Karda Nui. Already, the villains’ shadow leeches have turned many Matoran evil. Both the Toa and their enemies must ally with Matoran if they hope to win this fight. The Toa discover the ability to forge a mental link with the villagers, gaining their knowledge of Karda Nui and unlocking new powers for the Matoran. The Makuta, blinded by the energies unleashed when Mata Nui's life was restored, must rely on the evil Matoran to act as their “eyes.” Those Matoran too gain access to new powers. Believing they must retrieve the Mask of Life to complete their mission, the Toa Nuva decide to split up. Lewa, Kopaka and Pohatu remain to help the Matoran while Tahu, Gali and Onua head to the swamp far below. Lewa’s team challenges the Brotherhood of Makuta, but finds its enemies cannot be easily defeated. Then help comes from an unexpected new ally – the Mask of Life, which has made a body for itself so it can live the life of a hero as “Toa Ignika.” With his power added to theirs, the Toa renew the fight. Battles continue to rage in Karda Nui, the core of the universe. While half the Toa Nuva and their Matoran friends defend the skies from bat-like Makuta, the other three heroes – Toa Tahu, Toa Gali, and Toa Onua – plunge to the swamp far below in search of the Mask of Life. Unknown to the three, the Mask of Life has created a body for itself and joined the fight above as Toa Ignika. But they’re not alone. Three more Makuta, mutated by toxic swamp waters, ambush the three heroes as they search the dense, murky undergrowth. Even though the Toa Nuva are armed with new Nynrah Ghost blasters, these insect-like Makuta – Krika, Bitil, and Gorast – battle the Toa for possession of keystones. These stones are the means to unlock the secrets of awakening the Great Spirit Mata Nui. Meanwhile, with the aid of Toa Ignika, Lewa, Pohatu, and Kopaka get the upper hand over their Makuta enemies, forcing them to retreat down to the swamp and their insectoid brothers. Below, Tahu discovers a metal sphere embedded in a fallen stalactite, its smooth surface covered with concentric circle patterns. The object is surrounded by a protective shield, which the Toa Nuva can’t get through. The remaining Toa Nuva, accompanied by a strangely altered Takanuva, Toa of Light, and the mysterious Toa Ignika, team up with their friends in the swamp. Confronted by eight powerful Makuta, the heroes band together and finally find a way to defeat their enemies in time to awaken the Great Spirit Mata Nui. Tahu finally pierces the Codrex shell, and inside they find ancient machinery, vehicles… and the secret to the Toa. While some Toa hop onto the powerful flying vehicles to evacuate all the Matoran, the rest convince Toa Ignika that the only way to awaken Mata Nui and save the universe is for him to give up his new-found life and jump-start Mata Nui’s consciousness. Reluctantly, but remembering Matoro’s sacrifice, Toa Ignika agrees. The remainder of the Toa and the last of the av-Matoran race toward an exit portal, hoping to outrun the deadly energy storm that will be triggered when the Mask of Life is placed in the Codrex. They make it out in time, but the Makuta are not so lucky… they perish in the storm that fills Karda Nui. Slowly, machinery starts grinding in the depths of the cavern, as something begins to happen to the entire universe…

Barraki

The Barraki are powerful warlords condemned to the Pit ages ago for daring to rebel against the Great Spirit. After the Great Cataclysm struck and destroyed the inner pit, the Barraki escaped to the Outher pit, where they mutated. They see the Mask of Life as the key to their freedom and will destroy Mahri Nui to get it if they must.

Takadox
Takadox is taller and more horrific than all other Barraki. He lurks in a little rocky cave which glows in the dark. When somebody passes by he strikes with blinding speed. A schemer, Takadox is always seeking an edge over his enemies - and his friends. He is the most skilled Barraki at planning, seeing all of life as a game board and everyone in it as pieces to be moved how he wishes.

Kalmah
Kalmah captures his enemies with his long tentacles and suction cups. He has got three eyes and five tentacles on the back of his head. With those he is able to sense every movement going on behind his back. Kalmah is based on a squid. Where Pridak is ruled by rage, Kalmah is ice cold. He's not capable of friendship, caring, or any other real emotion. All he cares about is winning at whatever he tries, regardless of who gets hurt. The cruelty he shows to the squid he breeds is just a hint of what he is capable of.

Carapar
Carapar's body is twice as wide as it is long. With his long arms and giant claws, he is able to master any obstacle. His thick armour makes him almost invulnerable - only electric powers have a chance against him. Carapar once had a much sharper mind than he has now, but that was before centuries of being hypnotized by Takadox eroded his mental skills. Still, Carapar is willing to stay Takadox’s ally - he figures if something terrible happens, Takadox will always manage to find a way to survive.

Mantax
Mantax lurks for his enemies in the darkness and then attacks them from behind. He is equipped with a thick armour, poisonous red stingers and mighty pincers. Mantax is the closest thing to an 'outsider' among the Barraki. The others really don’t know him or understand him, even after all this time, but they tolerate him because of his bravery and his skill in combat. Whether this will cost them down the line remains to be seen.

Ehlek
With his long, thin limbs and his armourless body, Ehlek seems to be a lighter opponent, but this is deceptive! With his green spikes he produces an electrical charge, which sends currents of lightning and can paralyze his opponents. After Pridak, Ehlek is the Barraki the most ruled by emotion. His hatred of Matoran outweighs even his desire for freedom from the Pit, and his choices - smart or not so smart - may determine the fate of his alliance.

Pridak
Pridak likes to float calmly over his unsuspecting victims before he strikes with lightning speed. Even the hardest armour is no problem for his razor-sharp teeth. Pridak is known for his sudden rage. Pridak's view of life is very simple - if someone is in his way, he expects that being to move aside. If they don’t, he will destroy them. He sees himself as born to rule, entitled to power, and anything he does to regain that power is simply him being true to himself… no matter who gets hurt.

Sea of Darkness

Plot: Deep beneath the floating island of Voya Nui rests the sunken village of Mahri Nui. Connected by a stone cord to the island above, Mahri Nui is surrounded by air bubbles that allow its Matoran inhabitants to breathe normally. But their existence is fragile. The Matoran must continually harvest air bubble from surrounding weeds, using the Rahi Hydruka to help. What’s more, their entire village is surrounded by The Pit, a seemingly bottomless chasm that holds the worst offenders of order. The Pit was guarded by several warriors, including Hydraxon and Maxilos. Hydraxon perished a thousand years before during the Great Cataclysm when Mata Nui was put to sleep by Makuta. Robotic Maxilos and his pet Spinax hunt those who try to escape from The Pit… but Maxilos has lately become more than it seems. The area is now ruled by the six most vicious of those imprisoned there. The Barraki were once powerful warlords, but their rebellion against Mata Nui was crushed and they were transformed and sent to The Pit as eternal punishment. Now that the guardians of the Pit are no longer in force, the Barraki engage in battle with other denizens of the deep as well as each other. Treachery is their pastime. Into this maelstrom fell the Mask of Life. Attempting to protect itself from the forces arrayed against it, the Ignika created guardians for itself. One, a tiny creature named Gadunka, was enlarged to fearsome proportion. Another, a Matoran named Dekar, was transformed by the mask into the form of long-dead Hydraxon, who believes he was that warrior and must enforce order in The Pit. Once the Barraki discover the existence of the mask, all other concerns are banished. They single-mindedly fight to control the Ignika, believing they will be able to transform themselves back into warlords and rule the land above once again. The Toa Inika cannot allow this. But first, their journey to the underwater depths is helped by the Ignika itself, which transforms the six heroes into water-breathing Toa Mahri. Surprised, they accept the change and discover the Matoran of Mahri Nui, who try to remain invisible to the awesome forces arrayed around them. After some initial suspicion, the Toa Mahri strike up a partnership with the Matoran of Mahri Nui. Matoro makes a startling discovery: the robot Maxilos is actually Makuta in disguise! A strange understanding forms, although Matoro remains deeply suspicious of the dark one’s motives. Makuta tells Matoro that the stone cord connecting Mahri Nui to Voya Nui above must be destroyed, in order to set the stage for saving Mata Nui’s life and awakening. Matoro, doubtful, nevertheless convinces the rest of the Toa Mahri this is a necessary action. Time has run out. Mata Nui is dead. The universe has three days before destruction. The Barraki continue their attacks on the Toa Mahri and each other, ever grasping closer to the mask itself. Desperate battles, aided by a Toa from old, Lesovikk, finally give the Toa Mahri the opportunity to grab the mask and complete the evacuation of Voya Nui and Mahri Nui. A massive underwater battle comes to an end when the stone cord is destroyed by the Toa Mahri, and five of the six Toa make good their escape as Voya Nui comes crashing down upon them all. But Matoro has other plans. He is the only one the Mask of Life allows to touch it without penalty. As the Ignika drags Matoro down through the gap in the bottom of the ocean, just before Voya Nui settles above them, Matoro falls into a massive cave. Knowing he is doomed, knowing Mata Nui is dead, Matoro puts on the Mask of Life. The consciousness of the Mask, touched by the sacrifice made by Matoro, transforms the rest of the Toa Mahri into air-breathers again, then releases a massive burst of energy which restores the life of the Great Spirit Mata Nui. The mask plunges through the mist of the great cave, lost in the depths. Matoro is gone. Mata Nui lives. And sleeps.

Roodaka

Powerful and dangerous viceroy of the Visorak, Roodaka is one of the most formidable foes any Toa has ever faced. With her catcher claws she can snag spinners thrown at her, poison them and then fling them back. Her Rhotuka spinners have the power to instantly and permanently mutate anyone they strike. A sworn enemy of the Toa and the Rahaga, she also plots against Sidorak to take control of the Visorak!

Plot: “The Great Spirit Mata Nui is not only asleep, he is dying.” These words from newly-awakened Turaga Dume shocked the gathered Matoran, Toa Nuva, and Turaga. They had just arrived at the city of Metru Nui after abandoning the ruins of the island of Mata Nui, and there was much work to do. The city was in the state it had been in a thousand years before, when the Visorak horde had spun webs of shadows throughout the ruins. Several large quakes had not done the city any kindness, and news of another quest was not the most welcome. But the Toa Nuva knew they had no choice, and set off to search for the Ignika, Mask of Life, on the desolate island of Voya Nui. The Toa Nuva were not the first to seek the mask. Six gangsters, self-styled Piraka, had already invaded the island and begun to use the Matoran who scratched a living on the rocky floating island. Each Piraka was out for itself. The others were merely there to help find the Mask. Whoever ended up with the Mask of Life, they each figured in their devious minds, would end up ruling everything. Their allegiances were fragile at best, but that didn’t stop them from working together when needed. The Matoran of Voya Nui greeted the new arrivals with wonder. Were these the mystical, legendary Toa who would save them from ruin? Seizing the opportunity, the Piraka claimed to be Toa heroes and were welcomed by the villagers. But soon, the Piraka put the villagers to work digging trenches and constructing fortresses near the volcano at the center of the island. They never explained to the Matoran, and only a conversation overheard by Garan, a Matoran in the right place at the wrong time, alerted the villagers to their peril. Swiftly, the Matoran formed a resistance movement. They found out too late what the Piraka were up to when the gangsters transformed the rest of the Matoran population into mindless zombie slaves. The now-vacant Matoran were instructed to empty Mt. Valmai, laboring day and night. The resistance struggled to fight back, but they were few and the Piraka were strong. The Toa Nuva arrived at Voya Nui and were swiftly captured by the Piraka. Luck and skill enabled them to escape, but their tools and masks were taken from them. In Metru Nui, Matoran Jaller received word from one of the Turaga that the Toa Nuva had gone on a journey, and he resolved to follow. Along with several friends and Takanuva, the group journeyed toward the island. Takanuva was turned back, and the Matoran found canisters that would get them to the island. On the way, the canisters were struck by lightning from the Red Star which turned the Matoran into Toa Inika! The six new heroes found an island in chaos. Helping the Toa Nuva, who had a different destiny, the Inika battled not only the Piraka but the guardians of the mask itself, Axonn and Brutaka. Those two titans had fallen out and now battled one another. But the two were steadfast that no one else should lay hands on the Mask of Life. The many-sided battles brought each to the Chamber of Life where the mask was hidden by the Great Beings long ago. There, they face one last guardian: the mad Piraka Vezon and his spidery companion/keeper Fenrakk. The Ignika, which had a consciousness of its own, evaded capture by one and all, fleeing the chamber and plunging into the island’s large bay. Toa Inika Hahli dove after the mask, but even her skills were not enough to retrieve it. She was brought back to the surface by a gasping Matoran, who begged for help for his underwater village before expiring. The two sets of heroes split up: Toa Nuva on a mysterious mission to legendary Artakha, the Toa Inika to retrieve the Mask of Life from the black, watery depths of The Pit. Neither group has any idea what the Ignika has in store for them…

Axonn
Immensely powerful, Axonn was a champion of justice long before the first Toa ever came to be. He has vowed to fight the Piraka and keep them from stealing the Mask of Life! Axonn wears the Kanohi Rode, the Great Mask of Truth, which can pierce any disguise and spot any deception. His enormous axe can cleave a mountain in half, and fires pure energy from its blade!

Brutaka
Once he was a loyal guardian of the Matoran and Axonn’s best friend, but now he has turned evil! Powerful enough to defeat six Toa with one blow of his double-bladed weapon, Brutaka alone is as great a threat as all the Piraka combined! He wears the Kanohi Olmak, the Mask of Dimensional Gates, which can be used to transport a target to another location or even into another dimension!

Veson & Fenrakk
Brought to life by a horrible accident, the seventh Piraka called Vezon dared to try and steal the Mask of Life for himself. But the mask cursed him to be fused to the monstrous spider Fenrakk and serve as a new guardian of the ancient artifact. Now the mad Vezon and his terrifying steed wait for anyone brave enough - or foolish enough - to try to steal the mask!

Umbra is a guardian of the volcano of Voya Nui. To get to the Mask of Life, the Toa will have to find and defeat Umbra, whose powers are based on light. But Umbra is not evil. He was placed there by the faithful forces of Mata Nui to ensure that no-one with evil intentions will ever be able to take the mask.

Web of Shadows

Plot: Their journey from Metru Nui had been difficult at best. But the Toa Metru had rescued five pods containing sleeping Matoran, and were determined to retrieve the rest of the sleepers back in Metru Nui. They named their new paradise island Mata Nui, in honor of the Great Spirit. Returning to Metru Nui was a shock. Shipwrecked after the destruction of their Lhikan II craft, the Toa were astounded to see the great city in ruins and covered in tangles of web. The Visorak horde had invaded Metru Nui. Confident in their new Toa powers, the heroes did not fully estimate the strength of the Visorak numbers. It didn’t take long before they were captured and spun into cocoons high above the remaining city towers. Venom within the cocoons transformed the Toa into something something terrible: Toa Hordika – part Toa, part beast. Their cocoons shredded and the Toa plunged toward the city far below. Before they reached it, however, they were grabbed by small flying figures: saved by the Rahaga! These new friends were once powerful Toa themselves, but transformed into small Rahkshi-like forms as a mockery of their former stature. They told the Toa of a legendary Rahi named Keetongu who would be able to change the Toa Hordika back to Toa Metru. But despite a deadline when the change became permanent, the Toa were firm: the need to rescue their Matoran friends came first, saving themselves was second. The Hordika began scrounging parts to build airships large enough to carry all the Matoran back to Mata Nui. During this time, evading the Visorak and other creatures set loose throughout the city, Vakama began taking long solitary walks. He was captured by the spiders and taken to Roodaka, Viceroy of the Visorak. She showed Vakama the unswerving loyalty of the Visorak, and convinced the Toa that his friends no longer cared for him. Shaken, he agreed to join Roodaka, but she had plans of her own: the overthrow of Sidorak, king of the Visorak horde. All Vakama had to do, she told him, was capture the Rahaga. Vakama’s decision resulted in the capture of five Rahaga, and he was named Leader of the Horde. The Visorak would answer to him. The other five Toa sought out and found Keetongu, who would heal them only after they proved their mastery over their beast natures. And they needed Vakama. The Toa Hordika of Fire resisted their pleas, but during a huge confrontation with Sidorak and Roodaka, Rahaga Norik released his fellow Rahaga as Keetongu climbed up a tower. The Visorak king and viceroy managed to strike down Keetongu, but he was not out, only down – as Sidorak discovered, to his doom. Roodaka, undaunted, mounted a huge Visorak intending to steal away the Hordika’s elemental powers. But Vakama recognized who his true friends were, and rescued a falling Matau as he rejoined his Hordika friends once more to battle Roodaka. Before the Hordika were able to vanquish the Viceroy, however, a dark ghostly hand plucked Roodaka from her spider mount. Makuta had escaped his protodermis prison. Vakama’s last act as Leader of the Horde was to free the Visorak. Only then did Keetongu change the Hordika back to Toa Metru. The city was freed from the grip of the Visorak. The Toa were back to their hero selves. It was time to bring the Matoran to Mata Nui. The airships labored to bring the pods all to Mata Nui, until finally all the inhabitants of Metru Nui were on the island. There was only one problem left: the Matoran still slept. Recognizing the necessity, each of the Toa spent some of their energy to awaken the Matoran, who had little to no memory of their lives in Metru Nui. Such an effort drained the Toa of their powers so like Lhikan before them, they were transformed into Turaga. They constructed six villages, modeled after districts in Metru Nui, and under the leadership of the Turaga they lived on the island for a thousand years. There they lived until the coming of the Toa and the quest for the Mask of Light forced them to journey back to Metru Nui. But that’s another story.

Rahaga

Once powerful Toa Hagah, the Rahaga were transformed into Rahskhi-like creatures by Roodaka.

Gaaki
Gaaki captures creatures of the protodermis sea to keep them safe from the Visorak horde. Her floater spinner makes creatures of the deep rise to the surface. Proud and independent, she is out to prove she is the equal of the other Rahaga.

Kualus
Kualus uses his Rhotuka boomerang spinner to capture the Rahi who fly above Metru Nui. Completely devoted to their protection, Kualus has even learned the language of the flyers!

Pouks
Pouks hunts only the largest and most dangerous Rahi! Using his Rhotuka bolo spinner, he entangles them in bonds of energy to bring them down. Fearless, there is no beast Pouks will not pursue and tame.

Norik
Rahaga Norik uses his Rhotuka snare spinner to net dangerous Rahi reptiles and insectoid creatures. Wise and strong, he struggles to keep the Toa Hordika together as a team so they can oppose the Visorak.

Bomonga
Rahaga Bomonga's spinners fly silently through the air, striking his prey and holding it motionless. Extremely patient and skilled, Bomonga will wait for hours to catch one Rahi.

Iruini
Nimble and athletic, Iruini is the best there is at trapping Rahi who hide atop the towers of Metru Nui. His snag spinner tangles the legs of creatures, cutting off their escape.

Bohrok

The Bohrok are driven by one purpose, to cleanse Mata Nui, restoring it to its former state as a completely barren wasteland. The Bohrok are controlled by the Krana, an intelligent organism, which they cannot function without.

Tahnok

The Tahnok are the most aggressive and destructive of all the Bohrok swarms! They use their mastery of fire to burn and melt whatever's in their way. Even with their krana removed, Tahnok are hard to tame.

Pahrak
The Pahrak are the most unrelenting of the Bohrok, never giving up until their destructive work is done. Their shields have the power to set off earthquakes, and they can move massive boulders with their bare hands. No matter what the obstacle, Pahrak can reduce it to rubble! But if you remove their krana, the Pahrak can be tamed!

Nuhvok

The Nuhvok are the tunnelers of the Bohrok, using the power of their shields to blow up rock and blast passages through the earth. They even have the power to bring down a mountain! Although their reactions are slow, they are dangerously fierce when cornered. When their krana is removed, they can be put to work rebuilding what they have destroyed.

Gahlok
The Gahlok are the trickiest Bohrok opponents - they never attack the same way twice! Able to control water, the Gahlok use tidal waves to flood Mata Nui. Remove their krana and they can be tamed.

Kohrak
The Kohrak are the most cold-blooded of the Bohrok. They want to bring a new ice age to Mata Nui - and they have the power to do it! Their shields are capable of freezing anything and can even fire blasts of ice. Get in their way and you'll wind up in a block of ice!

Lehvak
The Lehvak are the only Bohrok swarm designed for combat. Using their crushing shields and dissolving spray, they exist to destroy anything that lives on Mata Nui. Clever and unpredictable, stopping the Lehvak may be the Toa's greatest challenge! With their krana removed, they are still highly difficult to tame.

Toa Inika

They arrived on Voya Nui as Matoran villagers on a rescue mission. Once on the floating island, they were hit by lightning bolts from the Red Star, which transformed them into Toa Inika. Their mission: find the Mask of Life and use it to save the Great Spirit Mata Nui.

Toa Jaller
Using his Kanohi Calix, the Mask of Fate, Toa Inika Jaller can pull off feats others might think impossible! His energized flame sword fires blasts of flame and lightning intertwined, while he can use his zamor sphere launcher to free enslaved Matoran.

Toa Hahli
Toa Inika Hahli may be the most important of the new heroes, for her Kanohi Elda, the Mask of Detection, will lead the group right to the Mask of Life! If the Piraka try to get in the way, her laser harpoon fires a mix of water and lightning.

Toa Nuparu
Toa Inika Nuparu soars through the air with his Kanohi Kadin, the Mask of Flight. His laser drill and zamor sphere launcher make him a formidable fighter, on the ground or in the sky.

.Toa Hewkii
Toa Inika Hewkii can beat an enemy with the power of his stone-lightning blasts, laser axe or zamor launcher - or he can use his Kanohi Sanok, the Mask of Accuracy, and turn virtually anything that can be thrown into a weapon!

Toa Kongu
Toa Inika Kongu knows what his enemies are thinking, thanks to the Kanohi Suletu, the Mask of Telepathy. And he knows how to stop them using his laser crossbow and zamor sphere launcher!

Toa Matoro
A blast of frigid air… a blizzard of ice… Toa Inika Matoro has arrived! The Toa Inika of ice combines his elemental cold power with pure lightning to stop the Piraka. He carries an energized ice sword, a zamor sphere launcher, and wears the Kanohi Iden, the Mask of Spirit.

Visorak

The Visorak are spider-like creatures who invaded Metru Nui under the command of Roodaka and Sidorak.

Vohtarak
The aggressive Vohtarak are known for their berserker charges, during which they become virtually invulnerable to harm! Their burn spinners bring intense pain to their foes, distracting them from the struggle. Fiercely loyal to Sidorak, they will do whatever he commands.

Boggarak
The Boggarak serve as Roodaka's personal guard and are well-equipped for the task. Their spinners can cause enemies in water to swell up and float to the surface, or enemies on land to turn to dust. Their sonic powers can transmute solid foes to gas, making them among the most dangerous of Visorak!

Oohnorak
While the numbing power of its Rhotuka spinner is effective against foes, the Oohnorak's true power lies in its trickery. Using limited telepathy and a talent for mimicry, Oohnorak can duplicate the voices of trusted friends and lure an enemy into a trap.

Roporak
Roporak are the master spies of the Visorak horde, using their chameleon power to blend in with their surroundings. Their disrupter spinners drain energy from a target, making capture that much easier.

Keelerak

Plot: A thousand years before the Toa defended the island of Mata Nui from Makuta and the Bohrok Swarms, the city island of Metru Nui was a bustling metropolis. Its six districts boasted tall towers, intricate transportation chutes, great furnaces to make nearly anything, halls of wisdom, and large fields filled with artwork by master carvers. The skilled Matoran inhabitants were happy and prosperous, but that was about to change. Six Matoran, unaware their lives were about to change, worked in different regions of the great city. Whenua was an archivist in Onu-Metru; Nokama was a respected teacher in Ga-Metru; Matau rode fast-moving vehicles in Le-Metru’s test track; Nuju pondered great thoughts from towers in crystalline Ko-Metru; master carver Onewa called Po-Metru home; and mask-maker Vakama worked near the furnaces in hot Ta-Metru. Each received a mysterious visit from the city’s lone Toa, Lhikan, along with a stone and instructions to visit Ga-Koro’s Great Temple. Their transformation to Toa startled them all, but it came none too soon. Toa Lhikan was kidnapped in front of Vakama by two Dark Hunters. And as the Toa soon discovered, a voracious plant called the Morbuzakh was invading Ta-Koro and destroying vital equipment. Nothing appeared to stop the creeping vines, and many of the forges and furnaces of Ta-Koro were abandoned or destroyed. But Toa Vakama had a vision: the Morbuzakh nearly destroying Metru Nui, but being beaten by a Great Kanoka Disk. His vision also showed six Matoran who could help the Toa find the disks. So began their quest for these Matoran, and the six Great Disks. In the course of their search, the Toa discovered one of the Matoran was a traitor. But despite this, they all managed to find their Great Disks and use them to defeat the Morbuzakh. Thinking their perils had ended, the victorious Toa brought them to Turaga Dume in the great Coliseum at the center of the city. To their immense surprise, instead of being hailed as heroes, the six were ridiculed by the city’s leader. Summoning a whirlwind and his mechanical Vahki enforcers, Dume imprisoned Onewa, Nuju and Whenua – but Vakama, Nokama and Matau escaped. While on the run, Vakama discovered the Great Disks could be fused together to form a single Disk of Time. This was the key to what Turaga Dume had ordered of Vakama as a Matoran: create a Mask of Time. He put it aside when another vision showed him that Matoran were being put into canisters in Po-Metru. They set out for that district to find Lhikan, fighting their way past two Dark Hunters, the burly yet stupid Krekka and four-legged, sneaky Nidhiki. Matau’s newly-discovered mask power of shapeshifting helped them escape, and Nokama’s mask of translation let them befriend a herd of Kikanalo beasts. Meanwhile, Onewa, Nuju and Whenua met a mysterious Turaga while in prison. He told them they must learn powers of cooperation to find their mask powers and escape. After false starts, the three Toa stumbled into their powers and gained confidence in their own abilities. When they escaped, they brought the Turaga with them. In dark tunnels under Po-Metru, the two groups reunited. All were shocked to find their mysterious Turaga companion was none other than Lhikan, transformed from Toa into Turaga! The tunnels held many spherical pods like those Vakama had seen in his visions. Opening one, they discovered the real Turaga Dume imprisoned. But who was running the city behind Dume’s mask? Chased from the tunnels by Vahki enforcers, the group escaped into a strangely empty city. Where were the Matoran? The obvious destination was to confront the false Turaga Dume in the coliseum, so the Toa and Lhikan arrived just in time to see Matoran being ordered into more pods. Vahki took the pods and stored them under the coliseum. Indignant, the Toa confronted Dume. But it wasn’t Dume. Removing his mask, the figure revealed it was actually Makuta! Darkness engulfed the city as it quaked. The time of shadows had arrived, and the Great Spirit Mata Nui fell into a deep slumber. Unable to beat Makuta at the center of his power, the heroes and Lhikan escaped in a Vahki transport, grabbing six pods containing sleeping Matoran as they went. The Dark Hunters attacked, but were plucked away by a whirling maelstrom that was Makuta, who used the Hunters to increase his own power. The Toa drove their Vahki transport into the protodermis ocean to escape, but Makuta sped ahead of them to a cliff top in the angry silver sea. During the escape, Vakama had fashioned the Disk of Time into a mask, the Vahi Mask of Time. This powerful and dangerous Kanohi mask allowed Vakama to slow time around Makuta, but Vakama’s control was uncertain and he became entangled in its effects. Only Turaga Lhikan was able to save the Toa – but at the cost of his own life. Vakama had enough time to finally discovere his own mask power – invisibility. Vakama couldn’t defeat Makuta on his own. The dark being was about to put on the Vahi when Vakama flung a disk and the mask of time dropped into the sea. Dodging blasts, the Toa was nearly overwhelmed when his five fellow Toa arrived. Working in unison, the six Toa emprisoned Makuta in a hardened prison of solid protodermis. Although Makuta was no longer an immediate threat, their perils were not over. More quakes shook the sea, and the small boat with its few pods of Matoran aboard headed for a small crack in a great barrier. Their discovery of a pristine jungle island provided only a brief rest, for they still had Matoran to rescue. Little did the group know of the cataclysms that occurred elsewhere – Metru Nui fallen to ruin and shrouded in webs, islands broken and villages sunk, a great waterfall streaming into a cave unknown to even the Turaga. But those adventures would await them and other Toa.

Toa Metru

Toa Metru of air and guardian of the transport hub of Le-Metru, Matau is known for his instincts and his sense of humour. His Great Mask of Illusion and twin aero slicers make him a hero to be reckoned with.

Cold and aloof Toa Metru of ice and guardian of Ko-Metru, Nuju carries two crystal spikes for climbing the Knowledge Towers and wears the Great Mask of Telekinesis.

Nuhvok Va

Nuhvok Va are sometimes nicknamed "tunnel foxes" by the islanders. They are not naturals at heavy digging, but can burrow out of most situations. Normally they are spotted in distant shadows, moving with a quick scamper then a pause to listen. They can see in the dark and squeeze through gaps others would not think possible.

Gahlok Va
The Gahlok Va stalks the seas, keeping an eye out for any threats to the Gahlok's mission.

Plot: After the imprisonment of the Bahrag, commanders of the Bohrok swarms, Matoran engineers have started using the Bohrok machines to clean up the mess they’ve made. Aided by small Bohrok Va helpers, the villages begin putting their homes and lives back in order. Little do they realize their peace is only temporary. Six Bohrok-Kal, have emerged from their sleep to find and free Cahdok and Gahdok. They are far more intelligent than their cousins, and much more powerful. Their only problem: they have no idea where to find the Bahrag prison. The super-Bohrok begin stealing mysterious tablets from the shrine of each village. These tablets embody the elemental powers of the Toa Nuva, who as yet have not mastered their new abilities. Nor do the Toa Nuva know that their elemental powers are in danger. They find out the hard way when the Kal steal each symbol, which causes the Nuva to lose the ability to use their elemental powers. The Toa Nuva must rely solely on their wits and mask powers to track down and recover each tablet with their symbol on it. The Toa Nuva meet at Kini-Nui, where they are accosted by the Bohrok-Kal. Unlike regular Bohrok, these can talk, and talk they do. The Kal demand the Toa tell them where the Bahrag twins are held. Although the Nuva claim ignorance, the Kal fail to believe them and stun them into unconsciousness. Like the Bohrok swarms before, they do not harm the Toa or Matoran. They simply do what they must to meet their goal of freeing the Bahrag. The chase begins. In addition to trying to find and vanquish the Bohrok-Kal, the Toa Nuva must find their Kanohi Nuva to match their new status. Eventually each Toa has their full complement of six masks each, and they track the Bohrok-Kal to where they feared the Kal would be: the underground prison of Cahdok and Gahdok. Inside, the Toa Nuva are astonished to find a fight already going on… between the Exo-Toa and the Bohrok-Kal! But the Exo-Toa machines are losing, and are pounded to bits by the power of the Kal. A small cube floats in the chamber before the protodermis prison. While the Bahrag scream encouragement, the Bohrok-Kal pick up the tablets containing the Toa’s elemental powers and step over the remains of the Exo-Toa. They are mere moments away from placing the tables onto the six sides of the cube, which is the key to the lock that holds the Bahrag. The Toa are too far away and without their powers, helpless to stop the Kal. Desperate, Tahu Nuva uses the Vahi mask of time to slow time down around the Bohrok-Kal. They only have minutes, just enough time for Gali Nuva to come up with a plan and share it with her fellow Toa Nuva. As the Bohrok-Kal come out of slowed-down time, the Toa Nuva link their minds to each of their tablets and trigger the raw elemental energy in them. The Bohrok-Kal, thinking to use the energy to rule beside the Bahrag, eagerly suck the energy from the tablets but can’t control the massive forces. Their powers manifest themselves wildly, and each Kal is overcome by their own greed. They are crushed, electrocuted, utterly destroyed. Safe in their prison, Cahdok and Gahdok scream in frustration, but the Toa retrieve their elemental Nuva tablets and leave the Bahrag to their own company. Cleanup begins once more in the villages of Mata Nui, even to the extent of creating a brand new kolhii field in Ta-Koro. But worse foes await the Toa Nuva and their Matoran charges…

Plot: Water ripples around the barren island of Mata Nui, stripped of all life and vegetation by Bohrok hordes. Powerful quakes shake the earth and massive megaliths of mountain and bedrock crash into the ocean. An immense chasm rips upward through the middle of the doomed island, each side sliding toward the ocean as something massive pushes up from below. Far away, to the south and east and west, water foams and boils as undersea shockwaves spread from the movement beneath the sea. Gigantic whirlpools form and disappear. The sea itself heaves up towards the sky. Two halves of the island churn already-frothing waters as they slide apart and dissolve into the maelstrom. A tremendous head made of metallic protodermis rises from beneath the shattered remains of the once-beautiful island. Water, soil, and rock cascade off its face as it rises higher and higher into the sky. Titanic shoulders breach the ocean, and an equally immense chest pivots upwards. Slowly, the robot climbs to its feet and towers above the clouds for the first time in a hundred thousand years. Yellow light gleams from its eyes as it surveys the ocean below. Mata Nui has risen. Later, celebrations ripple through the great city of Metru Nui. The Toa Nuva, Takanuva, and rescued av-Matoran escaped from Karda Nui just before the cave was flooded with intense energy. The Makuta trapped in Karda Nui were not so lucky, and were obliterated. The Great Spirit is awake, and balance has returned to the universe. Just as Turaga Dume begins to congratulate the city’s protectors, a chill wind spreads over the spectators and a voice rumbles from everywhere and nowhere. It is a voice no one had ever thought to hear again – the voice of Makuta Teridax, leader of the Brotherhood of Makuta. “I am everywhere. I am everything you see.” Toa Matoro had heroically brought the physical form of Mata Nui back from death, but before the Great Spirit’s consciousness had returned, Makuta Teridax replaced it with his own version. Then he had only to wait for the Toa Nuva to achieve their destiny and resurrect the great form of Mata Nui. Makuta will now rule the body of the Great Spirit, the entire universe of the Toa and Matoran. Evil laughter shakes every surface in Metru Nui. A tremor runs through the ground. Trapped in the golden Mask of Life, the mind and spirit of Mata Nui is flung through space on a journey whose destination no one can know…

The Mask of Light

Plot: Adventures are nothing new to Takua the Chronicler. Even at the risk of being late for the first-ever kolhii match at Ta-Koro’s new stadium, he is exploring deep under the fiery village, hopping over stones to a totem marker that has captured his interest. His friend Jaller, Captain of the Ta-Koro Guard, finds his friend as he discovers the totem is more than just a rock – it contains the Kanohi Avohkii, the Mask of Light. The pair make it to the kolhii match just in time, but end up losing. During closing ceremonies, the mask falls out of Takua’s backpack. Through a trick, Takua convinces the Turaga and Toa that Jaller is intended to be the herald of the Massk of Light, not him. They task Jaller with finding the legendary Seventh Toa, but not before he includes Takua in his quest. As the two Matoran friends set off to follow the masks’ beacon of light, Makuta releases three Rahkshi minions to retrieve the mask. He cannot have the Matoran and Toa finding such power. Gali Nuva, meditating at the island’s Kini-Nui temple, is attacked by the three creatures, which are actually robotic armor driven by snake-like creatures extracted from Makuta himself. Barely making it to Ta-Koro, Gali warns the guards just as the Rahkshi attack the village of fire. Even the combined power of two Toa Nuva cannot stop three determined Rahkshi, who eventually level the village and send it sinking into a lake of lava as the residents flee to safety. Tahu barely notices a wound on his mask that glows green, but Gali becomes worried for her fellow Toa. Oblivious to the loss of their village, Takua and Jaller continue their search for the Seventh Toa. As they run into other Toa, who help them along their quest, they find out just how dangerous the situation has become. At one point, Makuta appears before Takua, warning him that Jaller will die unless Takua gives Makuta the mask. Takua, frightened for his friend’s safety, abruptly abandons the quest, leaving Jaller searching alone. Makuta is not satisfied with the progress made by his Rahkshi. Three more are unleashed from the dark lair, invading Onu-Koro as Pohatu visits with Onua. Another village is destroyed before the Toa regroup and determine what to do. At their conference, Tahu is so far gone from infection that he lashes out at Gali, but the other Toa restrain him and Gali heals him. It takes a lot out of her, but Tahu emerges whole and rational once again. After the disaster at Onu-Koro, Takua realizes he’s left his friend in a very dangerous position, and with his Ussal crab Pewku, hurries back to join the Captain of Ta-Koro’s guard on his quest. Once re-joined, they make their way to the center of the island, at the Kini-Nui. It may have been a poor choice of location. The Rahkshi have the pair surrounded. But it doesn’t take long for the Rahkshi to notice the Toa surrounding them. Combining elemental powers, the Toa work to vanquish the Rahkshi and save both Matoran. Trapped in a shrinking circle of friends and enemies, Takua shakes the mask, which blasts some of the rock off the Kini-Nui cliff face, revealing a carving of the Mask of Light. Jaller launches himself onto Turahk to save Takua’s life, but is killed in the process. Takua no longer hesitates. He places the golden mask on his face, and becomes Takanuva, Toa of Light. Although the Toa Nuva have done an admirable job on the Rahkshi, Takanuva finishes them off. Still grieving for his friend, he builds a vehicle from the parts left over from the vanquished Rahkshi and descends into the destroyed Kini-Nui to confront Makuta in his lair. So intent is he that he doesn’t notice Hahli has snuck into the storage area of his vehicle. Takanuva challenges Makuta, who surprisingly suggests a winner-take-all game of kolhii to resolve the issue. Takanuva accepts the challenge, and despite being smaller and less powerful than Makuta, manages to use a special move and slam Makuta into a pool of energized protodermis. But the master of darkness pulls Takanuva in with him, only to emerge as a single blended entity: Takutanuva. It’s time to wake Mata Nui, he tells the Toa and Matoran who have assembled in the lair. Opening a doorway, the villagers and their Toa and Turaga leave behind Takutanuva, who is crushed by the weight of the doorway. Only the golden Mask of Light survives, but before the door descends, Takutanuva brings Jaller back to life. Fortunately for Takanuva, the Mask of Light is able to bring him back as well. Once beyond the doorway, Turaga Vakama points across a vast protodermis sea at a city of legends, lost for a thousand years – a city that was once home to the Matoran – a city now rediscovered. Thus begins the tale of Metru Nui.

Toa Lhikan, guardian of Metru Nui before the coming of the Toa Metru, carries two lava greatswords that can be combined to form a flying board or a shield. The Kikanalo is a mighty herd animal, whose stampedes are feared even by the evil Dark Hunters.

The Bohrok Swarms

Plot: Makuta was gone. It didn’t take long for the villagers and Toa of Mata Nui to sense their next challenge. Ever at the center of things, Takua returned from Makuta’s underground lair with a tale of strange new beings set free deep beneath the surface. Even before celebrations of Makuta’s defeat were completed, the Toa began hearing reports of bug-like creatures swarming across Mata Nui, destroying the landscape and buildings, but not harming the Matoran themselves. One villager from Ta-Koro struggled to the Toa and could only utter one word, over and over. Bohrok. Bohrok. Bohrok. Soon, the Bohrok were everywhere. Turaga Vakama informed the Toa there were six different breeds of Bohrok: Gahlok, Nuvok, Pahrak, Tahnok, Lehvak, and Kohrak. Each one powered by a rubbery krana that rested beneath the Bohrok’s smooth shell. There were eight different types of krana, and each held a special power. The Toa, according to Vakama, must collect all 96 different types of krana in order to stop the swarms from completely destroying the island. The Toa spread out in search. Toa Lewa headed for Le-Koro, but instead of his villagers, he found Turaga Matau with a krana resting on his face in place of a Kanohi mask. The Matoran were likewise infected. Rather than fight those he had sworn to protect, Lewa submitted to the krana. He had no choice. Other villages were luckier. Underground Onu-Koro fought off a swarm, but several Matoran were trapped underground. Nuparu, one of the engineers, discovered a Gahlok with its krana missing and discovered each Bohrok was simply a machine controlled completely by the krana. He managed to cobble together another machine out of the parts, and his new Boxor vehicle design spread to other villages. When used in large numbers, Matoran driving Boxors were able to hold their own against a Bohrok swarm. While infected Lewa stayed in Le-Koro, the other Toa collected the rest of the krana. They flooded canyons, trapped Bohrok in rockslides, and tricked or fought the Bohrok long enough to gather all they needed. Toa Onua found Lewa at last, and managed to convince Lewa he was stronger than the krana. Lewa broke free of the creatures’ control, but could still “hear” the Bohrok from his nearly-severed connection. Meanwhile, Toa Kopaka discovered a large cave entrance and with Toa Tahu decided to bring all the krana. They had found the Bohrok nest. All Toa assembled at the mouth of the cave, Lewa assisted the group with his link to the Bohrok, and the Toa discovered six passageways lined with niches mean for krana. But simply placing the krana in their niches didn’t stop the swarms. Further along the passageways, the Toa discovered powered armor, Exo-Toa machines. Donning them, they found at last the true Bohrok commanders: The Bahrag twins, Cahdok and Gahdok. These fearsome-looking creatures shrugged off the Toa’s attacks with ease, until Tahu discovered the Exo-Toa suits were preventing them from using their elemental powers. Panrahk

Kurahk
Kurahk is one of the most dangerous Rahkshi, for his power can turn the Toa Nuva against each other! His staff fills opponents with anger and makes them fight among themselves. The Toa Nuva will need all their strength to resist the rage Kurahk creates!

Lerahk
Lerahk uses his staff of power to spread poison. By ramming it into the ground, he can turn the soil toxic, and the merest scratch can infect an opponent.

Guurahk
Guurahk's staff of power can cause objects to fragment and collapse into rubble. He will bring down the entire island of Mata Nui in his search for the Mask of Light, unless the Toa Nuva can stop him!

Vorahk
Vorahk's staff can drain the energy of any foe - and add it to the might of this Rahkshi! Not even the powerful Onua Nuva can stand against him.

Quest for the Masks

Plot: A single Matoran villager winds his way across the island of Mata Nui, in search of stories to chronicle. His memory torn from him, the lone Matoran wanders into adventures with his fellow villagers and the new Toa heroes fallen from the sky. His name is Takua. Takua is originally from the village of Ta-Koro, perched in the center of a lake of fire. But his travels bring him across the entire island, from icy Ko-Koro to the windswept desert of Po-Koro and its skilled carvers. Along the way, Takua helped fix damage and solve problems brought on by rampaging Rahi beasts. Those beasts have been driven mad by wearing infected Kanohi masks. The masks were sent by dark Makuta, who lurked in his underground lair of Mangaia. Makuta spread his shadows across the island, and the villagers were unable to stop the enraged Rahi which shattered their homes. The dark tide was turned when the Toa arrived on the island. Each Toa was master of an element, and was charged with defending the village of that element. Tahu, Toa of Fire, made his way to Ta-Koro, while Gali defended watery Ga-Koro, Pohatu watched over desert Po-Koro, Onua guarded underground Onu-Koro, Lewa oversaw the jungle village of Le-Koro, and Kopaka protected the icy realm of Ko-Koro. Their elemental powers channeled through their tools made them a formidable. After meeting on the slopes of Mt. Ihu, wise Turaga Vakama told the Toa they must find great Kanohi masks of power in order to challenge and defeat the Makuta. Although some wished to stay together, each Toa went alone to search for their masks. Once each Toa found six great masks, the six Kanohi were combined into a single golden mask of great power. They also received Makoki Stones which would open the pathway to Makuta’s lair. Makuta’s defense was massive. Infected Rahi gathered at the entrance to his lair, the Kini-Nui, in an attempt to prevent the Toa and Matoran from entering. Takua and his Matoran friends guarded the entrance while the six Toa descended. Makuta’s Mana guardians forced the Toa to physically combine into two beings, the Toa Kaita. Akamai – the combination of Tahu, Pohatu, and Onua - went one way, while Wairuha – Lewa, Gali, and Kopaka – took another route. Their strength and wisdom helped them defeat the Manas and enter Makuta’s stronghold. This close to Makuta, the combination form could not be sustained, and the Toa Kaita dissolved to become the six Toa once more. Arrayed in a circle, the Toa were ready for anything. Or so they thought – until a small figure stepped into the light. A scarred and infected Matoran figure accosted the six great Toa, taunting them. But the master of shadows soon changed his appearance into a whirling maelstrom of elements, dark tendrils slamming out and into the heroes. Individually, the Toa were helpless to stop Makuta. But when they combined their elemental powers, Makuta was beaten back. The dark form’s last taunt hung in the air: “You cannot destroy me,” before the vortex vanished and Makuta’s dark presence was no longer felt. The Toa were victorious! The battle did not go unseen. Brave Takua, ever in search of a story and at the urging of Gali, had followed the Toa into the darkness and witnessed their victory over Makuta. After the Toa were transported back to the surface, Takua entered another doorway and discovered a new threat. Massive walls with circular patterns glowed green, and as he approached, something burst from behind one of the circles. Takua stayed just long enough to see the thing’s eyes glow before escaping to the surface. Makuta had his revenge. The Bohrok swarms were awakening…

Bohrok-Kal

When the Toa battled and then trapped the Bahrag twins, their captivity awoke the Bohrok-Kal. The Kal are six Bohrok controlled by advanced Krana. They have only one mission in life: find the Bahrag, free the Bahrag and unleash the swarms once more. They are driven neither by good or evil, but by duty.

Tahnok-Kal
Tahnok-Kal is fast and powerful, and usually acts as the leader of a Bohrok-Kal squad. It's reflexes are incredibly swift, making it appear short-tempered to those who see it in action. Some have said the Tahnok-Kal is truly as fast as the lightning it controls. Tahnok-Kal controls the forces of electricity via his power shield. The shield can use energy for defense or fire lightning bolts at an opponent.

Pahrak-Kal

Pahrak-Kal is a slow-moving powerhouse. Although it would seem this Bohrok-Kal would be easy to evade, that is not so. The Pahrak-Kal is a powerhouse that can plow through any obstacle on its way to its goal. Pahrak-Kal’s tool is a plasma shield. It has the power to superheat any substance until it becomes plasmodia. This makes him a fast and effective tunneller. The shield can also be used defensively, to turn any incoming missile or attack into a roiling mass of plasma. More terrifyingly, it can be used as an offensive weapon, to turn any obstacle into a molten mass.

Nuhvok-Kal
The Nuhvok-Kal sacrifices speed for sheer power. It's gravity shield makes it one of the most dangerous Bohrok-Kal, but it seems to be in no hurry to fight. Perhaps the reason is that as soon as it brings its gravity shield into play, the struggle is over in seconds... The Nuhvok-Kal’s gravity shield has the dual ability to negate gravity (so that it's target becomes lighter than air and starts to float away), or intensify gravity (so that it's target becomes much more dense, and sinks into the ground). To be sure of defeating Nuhvok-Kal, the Toa Nuva should face him only above ground.

Lehvak-Kal
Lehvak-Kal is the fastest and most unpredictable Bohrok-Kal. It's vacuum shield gives it two powerful modes of defense, and there is no way for a Toa Nuva to know which it will choose. Lehvak-Kal makes full use of the terrain, and can disappear into the jungle in an instant. Lehvak-Kal’s vacuum shield can suck all the air out of a given area, causing a destructive implosion. It can then release the evacuated air in a single blast that has the power to smash through solid rock.

Kohrak-Kal
Kohrak-Kal tends to work alone more than any other Bohrok-Kal. The reason may be that it's sonic powers are so great, they are even a threat to its comrades. In fact, the Kohrak-Kal is so awesome that it's Krana-Kal can afford to ignore danger until the very last moment, then react swiftly and with overpowering effect. Kohrak-Kal’s tool is a sonic shield. It can change its rate of vibration almost instantly, forming a dense sonic barrier that can repel most forms of attack. It is even more impressive when used in attack mode, bursts of sonic emanations can deafen an opponent or if used at higher intensity can cause almost any target to stress and shatter.

Gahlok-Kal
Like water itself, Gahlok-Kal is hard to catch. It's surface is designed to make it difficult to grasp, and it can “flow” around obstacles when need be. Gahlok-Kal is stealthy as well, able to sneak in and out of a Matoran village without ever being seen or heard. Gahlok-Kal’s tool is a magnetic shield. This collects, controls and directs the power of magnetism from the earth - which can be employed as a defensive force field against attack, or be used as a formidable defensive weapon.

Toa Nuva

Onua Nuva
Onua's powerful, tunneling hands have been enhanced to become an astonishing set of chainsaws that chew their way through rocks and earth, allowing Onua Nuva, the Spirit of Earth, to tunnel underground. If trouble is near, the saws become rollerblades to move him along at faster speeds over rough terrain, despite the weight of his amazing new armor.

Lewa Nuva
Whether floating above the forest or cutting his way through the jungle undergrowth, there's no stopping Lewa Nuva, the Spirit of Air. Equipped with two bush blades and awesome armor, the dense underbrush almost parts before him. But if there's not a second to waste, the blades can be turned into wings so Lewa Nuva can soar through the air and be the first to arrive at a trouble spot.

Pohatu Nuva
The Spirit of Stone, Pohatu Nuva's huge set of claws are quick to grab and move large rocks if that's what's required. To get out of a tight spot, the claws can be combined to form a protodermic ball that can be smashed against rock faces, causing massive boulders to splinter on impact Pohatu Nuva is protected from rock falls himself by his astounding armor.

Gali Nuva
Fast as ever, despite her almost impregnable armor, Gali Nuva, the Spirit of Water, is equipped to move almost as quickly as Lewa Nuva. Two axes allow her to smash rocks out of the way or quickly climb sheer rock faces - and when in her natural element, water, the axes turn into propellers to shoot her along at tremendous speed.

Kopaka Nuva
The Spirit of Ice is as cool as ever under his enhanced armor, and the double swords cut through icebergs as though they were butter. When speed is of the essence, Kopaka Nuva changes his swords into ice skates, so as to race across the frozen wastes, seeing his way even during terrible snowstorms, thanks to the special blizzard mask.

Tahu Nuva
The Spirit of Fire is still a fiery acquaintance, using two ancient, specially crafted swords to cut through molten lava. The incredible heat of the lava flows is kept at bay by his armor, even when his swords are combined together to form a cool surfboard that he uses to surf across the lava flows.

The Vahki are mechanical guardians designed by Nuparu to serve as law enforcers on Metru Nui, but they are sometimes too enthusiastic in maintaining order. They are under direct command of Turaga Dume.

Nuurakh
From the flames and smoke of Ta-Metru come the Nuurakh! The fastest of the Vahki, they prefer to lay in wait for their targets and then swiftly surround them. Their staffs of Command fill the mind of a Matoran with a single overriding command.

Bordakh
Ga-Metru is home to the Bordakh, the most cunning of all Vahki. The Bordakh love the chase and will sometimes delay a capture just to extend the thrill of pursuit. Their staffs of Loyalty temporarily turn Matoran into spies for the Vahki.

Vorzakh
Vorzakh of Le-Metru don't have the patience for long chases. They would rather just smash everything in their path until they find the Matoran they are searching for. Their staffs of Erasing temporarily turn Matoran into mindless "shamblers."
.Keerakh
The Keerakh of Ko-Metru don't bother to chase lawbreakers. Instead, they figure out where their targets are heading and get there first! Keerakh staffs of Confusion scramble a Matoran's sense of time and place.

Rorzakh of Onu-Metru are not the strongest or fastest Vahki, but they never give up on the chase. Run anywhere, they will follow, no matter what the risk. Rorzakh staffs of Presence make it possible for the Vahki to see and hear whatever the affected Matoran does, without the Matoran being aware.

Zadakh

Voya Nui Matoran

Velika
Velika is a Po-Matoran living on Voya Nui. A master crafter and inventor, he designs elaborate equipment for use by the Voya Nui Resistance team. Although wise, Velika's habit of speaking in riddles and epigrams makes it hard for many to understand him, especially Kazi.

Kazi
Kazi is a sarcastic and cynical Ko-Matoran, who has enough of a realist to know the Matoran probably won't survive a fight with the Piraka. He has no patience for Velika's riddles. Kazi is also the only one of the Matoran who initially knows why the Piraka are on Voya Nui.

Piruk
Piruk can sneak in and out of enemy bases to gather information for the Voya Nui Resistance team easily. Though this Le-Matoran is not the bravest, he is loyal to his friends and capable of giving credit for not only himself in team work. Piruk is the group's best spy. If he is caught, his shredder claws could rip through solid metal for him to make an escape route. He often sharpens them as a nervous habit.

Garan
Garan is an Onu-Matoran of Voya Nui. Brave and smart, he leads the Voya Nui Resistance team in their fight against the invading Piraka. A good tactical thinker, Garan believes that somehow the Matoran will prevail because they work as a team and the Piraka don't. When crossed, his twin Pulse Bolt generators fires a ball of energy that grows more powerful the further it travelled.

Balta
Balta is Garan's best friend and right hand man. He is also close friends with Dalu. Balta is skilled with technology, but is more capable of making small, practical devices. He is able to improvise with whatever is at hand - he can take any pile of discarded equipment and turn it into a device or weapon with ease!

Dalu
Dalu is the warrior of the Voya Nui Resistance team. She tends to solve every problem with muscle and strategy rather than reasoning. This comes in handy when she leads commando raids against the Piraka.

Skrall
Defeated but not destroyed, the Skrall are ready to take revenge on Mata Nui, the Glatorian warriors, and the Agori villagers they protect. Once the undisputed masters of their village of Roxtus, the remaining Skrall roam the desert in search of victims. Skrall are arrogant, vicious, brutal, fear nothing and care about even less. They are incredibly skilled fighters, both with and without weapons. What they may lack in technique they make up for with sheer bludgeoning power and strength.

Piraka
Warlord Nektann of the Skakdi race has allied with Makuta, and now leads his people in a fierce attack on this new world. The Skakdi armies, originally from the island of Zakaz, traveled to one of the Matoran universe’s southern islands, where they battled a small army of Rahkshi. While the Rahkshi held the upper hand at first, the Skakdi managed to decimate their opponents’ ranks. Nektann later decided to serve Makuta, and brought his small army to Bara Magna’s surface where they fight beside Rahkshi and rogue Skrall.

Rahkshi
Armed with the power of heat vision, the yellow-armoured Rahkshi are a devastating and perhaps unstoppable foe. Hordes of Rahkshi fight for Makuta on the surface of Bara Magna, swarming over Glatorian warriors and Agori villagers. Rahkshi are suits of armor created when a kraata “slug” is immersed in energized protodermis. They have been Makuta’s servants for tens of thousands of years. They are fast and tough, but not indestructible. Rahkshi have different powers based on their armour colour.

Tahu
Toa of fire, Tahu is destined to wear the powerful golden armour and strike a blow for the freedom of two worlds. His leadership has helped save the lives of Matoran and Toa, and through many incarnations he has always stood up to the challenges facing him. His appearance and abilities were changed into that of a Toa Nuva when he and his team fell into energized protodermis, and then again for his mission in Karda Nui, where flight was necessary to complete his mission of opening the Codrex. Now, the Mask of Life has transformed him back to his original appearance so he can use the incredible power of the mysterious golden armour. Gresh
Now wielding the elemental power of air, Gresh must use all his Glatorian skills to help defeat invaders from another universe. No longer a rookie, Gresh befriends Tahu and Takanuva and helps them understand Bara Magna. Takanuva
Takanuva was once Takua, a Matoran of light in Karda Nui, before going undercover on the island of Mata Nui. He was the first Chronicler, following around various Toa and recording their adventures. He managed to get into quite a few of his own adventures, until he found a special kanohi mask: the Mask of Light. While he and his friend Jaller, captain of the Ta-Koro guard and later a mighty Toa, searched for the rightful wearer of the Mask of Light, they battled Rahkshi and other menaces. Eventually, Takua realised he was the rightful wearer of the mask, so he put it on and became Takanuva, Toa of Light. Ever since, he has been helping the other Toa protect the Matoran workers, and fighting back against evil Makuta. Now, on the surface of Bara Magna, Takanuva helps Tahu and Gresh recover the scattered pieces of the golden armor. Will the awesome Toa of Light meet his match at last, or will he lead the Toa to victory on Bara Magna?
